If you are in line at the grocery store this week and find yourself flipping through magazines, then be sure to pick up the latest issue of U.S. News & World Report.
The magazine, which hit stands Tuesday, features highlights from its Best Graduate Schools guide, including five UCF programs.
Graduate school can be an expensive process. It is great to know that UCF's programs are among the top in the nation, and those rankings make the educational investment even more valuable.
The UCF programs listed in the top 100 include Engineering, Education, Speech-Language Pathology, Public Administration and Computer Science.
Of the five listed, UCF's engineering program ranked the highest, tied with two other schools for the No. 73 spot overall.
UCF's engineering program was one of two from Florida that made the list, with University of Florida ranking number 30.
It is quite the accomplishment for UCF, since U.S. News examined more than 12,000 graduate programs before picking its top choices.
To view all the rankings, visit the magazine's website at usnews.com. The website allows you to search schools based on name, location, program, admissions, cost, size and ranking.
It is a great resource if you are thinking of attending graduate school. The website allows you to add your top choices to a list and then compares the schools for you.
While on the site, you might notice that UCF's undergraduate programs aren't doing bad either.
U.S. News listed UCF in the top five national universities to watch in its "Top Up-and-Coming Schools" category.
The magazine lists this category as schools that "recently made the most promising and innovative changes in academics, faculty, students, campus or facilities."
We are proud of UCF for all of its recent rankings in the prestigious magazine.
Perhaps our favorite title for UCF was its listing in the category "Great Schools, Great Prices," which listed your school as one of the top 20 national universities for students graduating with the least amount of debt.
Education is priceless, but we would rather graduate with the least amount of debt possible.
It is good to know that UCF is making that possible.
Awards like these remind us how hard faculty, staff and administration are working to make
UCF one of the best public universities in the U.S.
Keep up the good work, UCF.
