Needing a big win to put an end to a two-game string of losses, UCF (10-11, 5-4) came up big over Tulsa (9-11, 4-5) with a 54-48 victory on their home court Thursday night.

The Knights had struggled offensively in both games leading up to Thursday's matchup as standout guards Aisha Patrick and Gevenia Carter had a tough time putting the ball in the basket. Against Tulsa, however, UCF had three double-digit scorers, won the battle of the boards with a 50-46 output, and saw great contributions from their reserves. Erika Jones grabbed 10 rebounds, 7 of them offensive (assisting in the production of 18 second chance points) while Patrick notched her seventh double-double of the season with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

UCF flourishes in games when they are able to force turnovers or grab quick rebounds and push the ball on the break. Doing just that, they outscored Tulsa 8-4 on the break and had a much better night offensively, shooting 35.8 percent from the field.

The Knights head to the FedEx Forum in Memphis on Saturday and they'll be looking for another key win on the road against a strong opponent. The game will be nationally televised on Sun Sports at 5 p.m. EST.
