A new social networking site is trying to replace Facebook as the number one hot spot for college students. College.com is a site that allows only college students to create accounts, using their .edu e-mail addresses. "When Facebook opened up [to more than college students], it was this huge opportunity to create a college-only social network," said Sam Marks, marketing director for College.
Presidential candidate for the Democratic Party Mike Gravel visited UCF Friday to speak to students and the public about his views and his bid for the presidency. Gravel, a two-term, former Alaskan senator, spoke candidly about the Iraq war, immigration, the environment and other issues in a fiery, one-hour question-and-answer session held in the Math and Physics Building.
Members of the National Organization for Women at UCF donned towels - and nothing else - bearing slogans such as "This is what Barbie should look like," to celebrate Love Your Body Day outside the Student Union on Thursday. NOW created Love Your Body Day 10 years ago to promote healthy body images and improve self-esteem among women who feel underrepresented by advertising and the media.

UCF's annual, three-day Family Weekend wrapped up Sunday, and campus was crawling with parents and other family and friends just before the Tulsa game Saturday. Families could be seen tailgating, shopping for Knight attire at the bookstore, attending any of the College Game Day open houses or just enjoying the sights around campus.
UCF's film department is creating more space in downtown Orlando to help students complete the films they need to graduate. The film department renovated a part of the old Orlando Expo Centre located at the Orlando Centroplex, which is the same facility that houses the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy for graduate students in game design.
