On Jan. 24, 2006, UCF alumna Jennifer Kesse vanished. More than two years later, her family continues the search for their daughter.
On Tuesday night, CBS aired an episode of 48 Hours that focused on the disappearance of Jennifer Kesse and Tara Grinstead, titled "Stolen Beauty."
Kesse's apartment was left undisturbed and it appeared as if she left for work in normal accord, but something was not right.
After Kesse didn't show up for a business meeting, her co-workers called the family in an attempt to figure out why she was nowhere to be found.
Joyce Kesse, Jennifer's mother, frantically dialed her phone number, only leaving her more panicked with a rising heart rate.
"Jen's cell phone had never been turned off," said Joyce Kesse on 48 Hours on July 1.
The Kesses rushed from Bradenton to Orlando. Jennifer was not at her apartment and neither was her car.
In the show, they went over both Kesse and Grinstead's cases and released information in hopes that there might be a connection between the two, but unfortunately none were found.
Tara Grinstead was a teacher and pageant star in a small town in Georgia. She has been missing since Oct. 24, 2005, exactly three months prior to Jennifer's vanishing.
At the shows' end, those involved in the cases plead for anyone in the audience with information to come forward.
The Kesses has made themselves known in the Orlando area over the past two years and their story caught the attention of three CBS producers. The producers contacted the family and made arrangements to air the story that is their unimaginable reality every day.
"We went to New York in March for three days of filming," said Drew Kesse, Jennifer's father. "CBS brought Joyce [Kesse's mother], Logan [Kesse's brother] and me out there. They also had Jennifer's best friend, Lauren, Jennifer's boyfriend, Rob, and two police officers working the case fly up. They were very patient and thorough."
