Authorities believe this man tried to attack a woman at Arbour Apartments on Wednesday. Anyone who sees him is urged to call the Crimeline.

Orange County Sheriff’s deputies are searching for a man who they say attacked a woman near UCF’s main campus Wednesday afternoon.

The attack occurred around 12:45 p.m near the leasing office of the Arbour Apartments, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said. The victim was approached by the assailant and was attacked without warning, deputies said. The woman hit the man in the face and fled. The victim’s name and condition have not been released. It is not known at this time whether she is a UCF student.

Arbour Apartments is open to students, but it is not UCF affiliated. The complex is located off of Alafaya Trail about two miles from UCF.

The woman was able to provide police with a description of the suspect. According to the sheriff’s department, the man was Hispanic, between the ages of 25 and 35. The man was about 5 feet 11 inches tall, had a muscular build, was clean-shaven, and had dark, curly hair that hung past his jaw. The sheriff’s department was also able to create a composite sketch of the suspect’s face based on the woman’s description.

Crimeline is offering up to a $1,000 reward for information related to the attack. If you know the whereabouts of the suspect or have information about the attack, the sheriff’s department asks you to call Crimeline at 800-423-8477.

The UCF Police Department issued a community alert Thursday afternoon notifying students of the incident. According to the alert, a weapon was not shown or implied.

The attack is not the first violent crime to occur at the Arbour Apartments this year. In January, 21-year-old Frank Morse Perry was found dead inside of a silver Honda at the apartment complex. According to an affidavit filed by the Orange County Medical Examiner, Perry suffered multiple gunshot wounds to the head.

This is a breaking news story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
