Debbie is awesome. Her parents did pay local taxes. But how can you punish her for what her parents did before she could walk. She not asking for any free money, she graduate high school with a 4.0. she just wants to work and go to school in the country she grew up in.
One thing I would like to point out that just because your undocumented doesn't mean you don't pay taxes. first of all every body pays sales tax. Many undocumented workers use somebody else social security number to get their paycheck. Meaning they get taxes taken out for things they will never see the benefit of, like social Security.

Wow! It sucks that Debbie cannot get the education she wants, I am sure she is a bright girl but the fact of the matter is that she is an illegal immigrant. Her parents are illegal and have not paid taxes for the entire time they have been in this country. This means that the education Debbie received for her entire life has been on the dime of tax paying, LEGAL citizens. It also means that her two siblings, (who are legal residents of the US) are receiving free education due to their parents NOT paying taxes. Now Debbie seems to think that she should go to college for free from money given to her by the state/federal government which is raised by tax paying citizens?? I don't think so. There are plenty of legal, tax paying citizens in this country that struggle paying for college every year that SHOULD receive the money Debbie was initially given. Why should you get funding for something you have never paid into and will never pay into? I am glad the system worked in this case, sorry Debbie but you don't deserve another second of free education. Maybe a different country is more in line with your entitlement mentality.
