Adkins leads Knights past Bethune-Cookman, 8-4

Junior pitcher throws 4 2/3 innings of no-hit baseball for No. 19 UCF

Junior Brian Adkins took a no-hitter to the fifth inning as he led the Knights (7-2) to an 8-4 win over Bethune Cookman (4-5) in Daytona, limiting the Wildcats to two runs and three hits in five innings on the mound.

Adkins let up his first hit on a double down the left field line with one out in the fifth inning.

UCF spread its own 10 hits throughout the lineup with four players picking up two hits and only three batters going hitless on the night.

D.J. Hicks knocked in three RBIs for the Knights increasing his RBI total to fifteen on the season.

UCF is scheduled to host Siena this weekend, with games Friday night at 6:30 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
