The Knights are out for revenge in this year's Conference USA championship tournament.
Although the Knights have closed the deal on regular-season C-USA championships two of the past three seasons, they haven't been able to do the same in the actual tournament. UCF hopes its luck changes this year as the Knights enter the tournament as a No. 4 seed, based on their 11-3-5 overall record and 6-2-3 conference record.
The Knights, coming off a 2-0 victory against Southern Miss on Friday, open up the tournament against fifth-seeded ECU on Wednesday.
"This was a good game to get confidence both as individuals and as a team going into the conference tournament," Knights head coach Amanda Cromwell said in a release.
Cromwell hopes her team will focus on scoring goals and dominating play on both sides of the ball.
"We have to get something out of our possessions," Cromwell said. "We need to be efficient in the attacking third. Defensively, we need to stay cohesive as a unit."
The first-round match between the Knights and the Pirates kicks off at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
