Knights land outside of top 10 at Isleworth
UCF hosted six top-10 teams at the Isleworth Invitational, and the field lived up to its lofty ranking.
The Knights finished 11th out of 15 teams. The bright spot for the team came in junior Greg Eason, who finished sixth individually.
"It's nice, I'll tell you, to see some hard work paying off," Eason said in a release. "It would've been nice to make a couple of shots less, but hopefully I'll get it better for the next event."
The team’s final event of the fall, the Stetson/CFSC Invitational, will be held Nov. 5-6.
UCF leaves Las Vegas with 2nd-place finish
The Knights’ women’s golf fall season ended with a second-place finish Tuesday.
The team wrapped up the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown with a score of 33-over-par, three strokes behind tournament champion Indiana.
“We didn't have our best today and were able to fight hard to finish second. We look to build on this performance to go into our spring season with confidence,” head coach Emily Marron said in a release.
Monifa Sealy led the team with a three-round total of 6-over-par.
Murray, Ishmael claim C-USA honors
Senior running back Latavius Murray and defensive back A.J. Bouye were rewarded for their efforts in the Knights’ 35-17 win over Memphis Saturday.
The pair was named C-USA offensive and defensive player of the week, respectively.
The awards were the first for both players.
Murray carried the ball 23 times for 192 yards and two touchdowns, including a personal-record 83-yard touchdown.
Bouye helped the Knights’ defense limit Memphis to 121 passing yards and added an interception.
Women’s soccer sweeps weekly awards
Senior Tishia Jewell and junior Ashley Nicol led the way for the Knights’ second sweep of the C-USA weekly awards.
Jewell was named Offensive Player of the Week after adding two goals and four assists in the team’s two games last week.
Nicol earned Defensive Player of the Week for her efforts in shutting out both of UCF’s opponents.
The Knights are scheduled to play their final regular-season game on Friday at Southern Miss.
