For two straight games, the Knights were held scoreless against their opponents. UCF will play Tulsa Saturday, 7 p.m., at home.

The No. 6 Knights (8-2-2) suffered their second loss of the season with a score of 1-0 at UAB (8-3-2) Saturday night. The match gives UCF a 2-1-1 record in Conference USA; it's the second straight game in which the Knights failed to score a goal.

UAB's Babayele Sodade scored an unassisted goal late in the 65th minute to give the Blazers a lead that would last for the duration of the match.

"We let up a goal in the second half, and we just couldn't break through," coach Bryan Cunningham said in a release. "Give a lot of credit to UAB. Their defense held tight, and their goalkeeper played very well."

Both defenses held the opposing team to shots in the single digits. UCF had eight shots but only three were on goal. Both goaltenders recorded three saves.

Cunningham used the road match to work in five subs.

"We had a lot of guys get quality minutes in the second half," Cunningham said. "I am pleased with our effort, but not pleased with the final result."

The Knights return home to play Tulsa Saturday at 7 p.m.

The match will be the first at home in nearly a month.
