The Knights outscored USF 18-3 in their two meetings with the Bulls this season.

Ray Hanson held USF (14-8) to four hits over seven innings, leading UCF (17-5) to a 6-2 victory and season series sweep over its in-state rival.

The Knights came back from a 1-0 deficit in the fifth inning when junior Ronnie Richardson hit a double to left field with the bases loaded, bringing in three runs and giving UCF the lead.

Two more runs came in for the Knights in the seventh on a bases-loaded single by D.J. Hicks.

Hicks’ two-run single gave him 33 RBI for the season.

Hanson earned the win for his seven innings of work on the mound. Relief pitcher Jimmy Reed pitched the final two innings, allowing only one run in a bases-loaded jam and pitching a perfect ninth inning.

UCF swept USF in the season series, outscoring the Bulls 18-3 overall this year.

The Knights are scheduled to host ECU Friday night at 6:30 for the first game of a three-game series and the beginning of Conference USA play.
