Thursday's game

Tulsa Golden Hurricane (5-3, 4-0) at

UCF Knights (4-4, 2-2)

Bright House Networks Stadium

Kickoff time: 8 PM EST

Forecast: Partly cloudy, Low of 61, Low chance of rain

Tulsa: Last time out

The Golden Hurricane dominated all aspects of the game when they beat SMU 38-7 in Tulsa. Not only did Tulsa light up the Mustang defense to the tune of 451 total yards, but the Hurricane also had good defensive efforts, specifically corralling SMU on third downs, allowing only 2-of-13 conversions.

UCF: Last time out

The Knights shut out Memphis and got some momentum back after consecutive losses, beating the Tigers 41-0. UCF amassed an impressive 501 yards of offensive and completely dominated time of possession by having the ball for two-thirds of the contest (40:03). The Knights have still not allowed a touchdown at home this season.

What to watch for when Tulsa has the ball:

Tulsa likes to run quick no-huddle drives and use a variety of formations, things that Knights say they are prepared for. A key will be whether UCF can establish a good pass rush, because with a ravaged secondary and some inexperience at the corners, allowing Tulsa quarterback G.J. Kinne time to throw would not bode well for the Knights.

What to watch for when UCF has the ball:

How will quarterback Jeff Godfrey come out? Last week, he played very within himself, making plays outside of the pocket. UCF coach George O'Leary said it was the first time all season the sophomore really ran and threw with "conviction."

Conference USA teams are known for high-powered offenses and no defense, but Tulsa's defense has had some success this season, especially after switching up their formations a bit recently. The Knights are also going to need a big game from running back Brynn Harvey to hopefully open up the field for the offense.

Key Tulsa players

G.J. Kinne, quarterback - Very accurate, can also make plays with his feet.

Willie Carter, running back - Doubly dangerous, mainly used as a receiver out of the backfield.

Milton Howell, defensive back - Named C-USA Defensive Player of the Week after snatching three interceptions against SMU.
