No. 13 UCF (10-4-3) ended the regular season on a high note, beating Marshall (8-7-1) 2-0 on senior night. Kevan George, one of only five seniors on the team, scored the first goal for the Knights, creating a deficit that Marshall would never overcome.

"We're finally getting healthy, and that's big going into the tournament," head coach Bryan Cunningham said. "We had a little lull there, losing two games in a row, but bouncing back today was big."

Scoring the second goal of the night was junior Nik Robson, who capitalized off a penalty kick in the 61st minute. The Knights' defense held Marshall to only three shots in the entire match, none of which were on goal.

"We have been playing good soccer, and we haven't been getting results. Tonight, everything came together," Cunningham said. "We played well, and we got a result. That's important. Defensively, we are where we want to be."

UCF looks next to the Conference USA championship, which will span Nov. 9-13 and take place in Tulsa, Okla. The conference winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.

"We wanted to make sure we win tonight so that this isn't our last home game," Cunningham said. "We want to be playing here in another week and [a] half's time in the first round of the NCAA tournament. We have got bigger things ahead of us, and we wanted it to start tonight with a win."
