It appears the Knights will be searching for a new defensive coordinator for the second time this offseason.

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that Ted Roof, who was hired on as UCF's defensive coordinator a mere 33 days ago to replace John Skladany, will be leaving the Knights after his brief stay to take the same position at Penn State.

Roof as well as Penn State's new coach, Bill O'Brien, both served under O'Leary at Georgia Tech, and when O'Brien was introduced as the new coach he mentioned Roof specifically as someone he would like to work with again.

UCF Athletics has yet to confirm the departure, but Roof as well as the rest of Penn State's new coaching staff is expected to be formally introduced later this week.

Despite the setback of losing Roof, there is still expected high interest in the position.
