Season ends for Knights in Coral Gables with loss to Stony Brook
UCF falls in regional final, 10-6, after jumping out to 3-0 lead

The UCF Knights’ bid to make a program-first Super Regional appearance came to an end Monday, with the Knights (45-17) falling to Stony Brook (50-12) in the Coral Gables Regional final, 10-6.
UCF jumped out to a 3-0 lead early on, anchored by a two-run home run by D.J. Hicks. Hicks would homer twice on the night.

The Stony Brook bats would come to life, though, scoring nine unanswered runs, a gap the Knights could not overcome.
UCF had started the regional 2-0, including a 9-8 win over Stony Brook on Saturday, but fell twice to the Seawolves on Sunday and Monday, ending the club’s season. Stony Brook will move on to face LSU in their Super Regional.
