Following UCF's official response to NCAA allegations the university has also confirmed to the Central Florida Future that it has released Associate Athletics Director for Public Relations and Communications Joe Hornstein from his duties.
The reason for Hornstein's dismissal was not disclosed, but in a statement the university said that "This is unrelated to the NCAA news also released today."
The statement goes on to thank Hornstein, who had been with UCF Athletics for five years, for his service and wish him the best going forward.
With regards to the new vacancy, the statement goes on to say "Until a replacement is hired and in place, Chad Binette (Associate Director, UCF News and Information) will serve as the Acting Athletics PR and Communications Director -- effective immediately and until further notice… Chad has the university's complete confidence in his new assignment."
