The UCF softball team will travel to Birmingham, Ala., this weekend in hopes of acquiring another Conference USA sweep, this time against the UAB Blazers (25-14, 9-3).

With its ace pitcher Mackenzie Audas, UCF (29-10, 9-3 record before Wednesday’s game against Gators) look to keep its hot streak going and fill a spot in the NCAA tournament, perhaps cracking the top-25 rankings in the process.

Audas earned her second C-USA Softball Pitcher of the Week award on Monday after she went 2-0 last week with one save and a 0.48 ERA in three appearances.

Currently, UCF is in second place in league standings behind Tulsa (26-8, 10-2).

While Audas has been leading the Knights from the mound, seniors Natalie Land and Vanessa Perez have been putting in work at the plate. The duo leads the team in batting average, runs scored, hits and stolen bases.

The road series against the Blazers is all that stands between the Knights and another home stand. Bethune Cookman, Memphis, Stetson and Houston all await UCF once it returns home to the UCF Softball Complex.
