Freshman defender Noel Crane passes the ball to her teammate in the Knights' 5-0 win over Marshall.

The Knights didn’t have any problems this weekend, shutting out their opponents 12-0 over the span on two games.

UCF kicked off Senior Weekend with a 7-0 win over the East Carolina Pirates and on Sunday, went on to beat Marshall 5-0.

“The seniors came up big in a lot of different ways: with assists, playmaking and goals,” head coach Amanda Cromwell said. “Getting the shutout was huge.”

Senior Tishia Jewell tied the school record for most career shots during Sunday’s game against Marshall.

Jewell will look to break the record next weekend when the Knights play Southern Miss on the road.

When asked how does it feel to tie up the record Jewell responded, “It feels like I am going to pass it next Friday.”

Senior Nicolette Radovcic scored the Knights fifth and final goal on Sunday in the 83rd minute after Bianca Joswiak flicked a pass inside the box.

“I thought it [the shutout] was huge for us. We were focused and we were ready to go. It was Senior Weekend so we got a nice little treat,” Radovcic said.

The match quickly picked up speed with a goal by Jennifer Martin in the 11th minute.

About 43 seconds after the first goal, Ashley Nicol put a shot in the back of the net with an assist from seniors Tishia Jewell and Andrea Rodrigues.

“We scored within 40 seconds of each other. That is just devastating for the other team,” Cromwell said.

Nicol had a busy weekend as she had two assists on Friday and a goal during Sunday’s game.

The Knights clearly had a dominant weekend over their C-USA rivals and will look to keep their momentum going as they head into the post season.

“From here on out, everyday is senior day,” Nicol said.
