Get ready to party, UCF — it's almost time for Pegasus Palooza, the university's official welcome week. From dancing and block parties to movies and concerts, there is something for every student, new or current, during Pegasus Palooza.

Here's a preview of some of the events that will be happening around campus:

Aug. 19

-Knight v. Food @ Student Union, Noon - 2 p.m.

Selected students will go head-to-head to see who can conquer the Wackadoo's Ultimate Fat Burger challenge, which consists of eating 2 pounds of burger, nine slices of cheese, nine strips of bacon, 1 pound of pulled pork and 1 pound of fries.

-CAB Presents: Comedy Knight @ CFE Arena, 7 p.m.-11 p.m.

Comedy Knight this year will feature jokes and a good laugh from Hannibal Buress and Hal Sparks.

Aug. 20

-Knight Rave @ CFE Arena, 8 p.m.-11 p.m.

The official Pegasus Palooza dance party will consist of glow sticks, black lights and live DJs spinning a variety of music, from EDM to dubstep and house music

Aug. 21

-CAB Presents: Concert Knight @ CFE Arena, 7 p.m.-11 p.m.

Head down to the CFE Arena to see performances from Karmin, as well as UCF alumni and The X Factor winners Alex and Sierra.

Aug. 22

-Late Knights Block Party @ Student Union, 10 p.m.-1 a.m.

This event will feature DJs and free food, as well as activities such as tie-dye and cornhole.

Aug. 23

-Knight-Thon 5K FTK

This is an annual charity 5K run, sponsored by Knight-Thon, UCF's annual dance marathon that benefits the Children's Miracle Network hospitals. Registration is $25 the day before and $30 the day of the race, and all proceeds go to local children's hospitals.

Aug. 15

-UCF Fan Fest @ Bright House Networks Stadium, 6 p.m.- 9 p.m.

Pegasus Palooza kicks off with the UCF Fan Fest, an event that allows everyone to meet student athletes. The event will include games and prizes, and fans will have multiple opportunities for autographs and pictures with the players.

Aug. 16

-LINK Launch @ CFE Arena, 7 p.m.-10 p.m.

Students will have the opportunity to meet each other while enjoying music, entertainment and live performances. Get there early, though: The first 800 students will receive a free smoothie from Smoothie King.

-Target Back-to-School Shopping Event @ Waterford Lakes Target, 10:30 p.m.-1 a.m.

This is an exclusive, after-hours shopping event just for UCF students.

Transportation to and from the event will be provided at the following locations: Libra, Academic Village, CFE Arena, Lake Claire, Knights Circle, NorthView and Rosen.

Aug. 17

-Convocation @ CFE Arena, 3 p.m.-5 p.m.

This is an event for first-year students, who will assemble and be welcomed to UCF by the university president and other speakers. Students will also receive a souvenir 2018 graduation tassel.

-Opening Knight @ Student Union, 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

Students looking to get involved on campus will find more than 200 organizations gathered here and can find out more about the clubs they are interested in. Prizes and refreshments will be provided.

Aug. 18

-CAB Presents: Movie Knight @ CFE Arena, 8 p.m.-11 p.m.

CAB will be showing Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier, as well as introducing themselves and upcoming shows.
