You've settled into your housing for the year, bought your textbooks (maybe) and located all of your classes on campus — but now what? If you're new to the UCF area, it's a good idea to get out and familiarize yourself with the surrounding area. If you're overwhelmed or not quite sure where to start, the Central Florida Future has compiled a list of 10 local spots that every UCF student needs to visit before graduation.

Lazy Moon – This casual University Boulevard pizzeria is infamous locally for slices of pizza larger than your face, as well as a vast collection of craft-brewed beers. Lazy Moon also hosts its own bocce ball league.

Jeremiah's Italian Ice – If you're looking to beat the summer heat, this may be your place. Located in the Waterford Lakes Town Center and offering more than 40 varieties of Italian ice, gelati and soft-serve ice cream, Jeremiah's is a hopping spot for cool treats.

Sweet! By Good Golly Miss Holly – Craving something sweet? Be sure to check out the gourmet cupcakes and frozen yogurt Sweet! in the Waterford Lakes Town Center has to offer. Stop by on Mondays for Mini-Mania Monday, when the mini cupcakes are sold for one dollar each.

Knight Library – Next to Panera Bread on University Boulevard and consistently rated one of the top college bars in the nation by news organizations such as USA Today, Knight Library features aspects of entertainment that college students crave, from DJs to beer pong and daily happy hours.

The MOAT Sports Grille – If you need a place to eat, drink and watch sports, The MOAT is located across from campus on McCulloch Road and Alafaya Trail. With a full liquor bar, weekday lunch specials and an extensive menu, The MOAT has something for every UCF fan.

Wackadoo's Grub & Brew – Located in the Student Union on campus, Wackadoo's is known as a prime spot for a casual bite to eat and a good place for clubs and organizations to meet, and it boasts a diverse menu and campus catering.

Waterford Lakes Town Center – Spread along both sides of North Alafaya Trail, Waterford is a bustling outdoor shopping center with a collection of more than 100 specialty shops and restaurants and is the go-to shopping plaza for UCF students. Some stores you'll find here include Tilly's, Ross and Super Target.

Keke's Breakfast Cafe – Nestled in Waterford Lakes Town Center and open from 7 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. daily, Keke's offers an array of breakfast and lunch options, from decadent waffles and stuffed French toast to paninis, sandwiches and more.

4 Rivers Smokehouse – A local hot-spot and Texas-style smokehouse, 4 Rivers has catered to the barbecue lovers in the area since opening its newest location on University Boulevard earlier this year. However, don't head down there on Sundays — like Chick-fil-A, it's closed.

First Watch – Breakfast hot-spot First Watch is found on University Boulevard across from Panera Bread and caters to the crowd craving breakfast, brunch and lunch. It specializes in fresh and healthy meal options and is open from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.
