Pollo Tropical offers free meals to clucking customers
Break out your best 'ba-gawk' because Pollo Tropical is offering a free quarter-chicken meal to anyone who clucks out their order while wearing yellow.
The promotion, which is available at Pollo Tropical locations across Orlando between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sept. 15., is part of an awareness campaign called National Chicken Lovers Month that occurs every September.
"There are a lot of people who love Pollo Tropical and this is our sixth year to give them a unique way to help us celebrate National Chicken Lover's Day," said Pollo Tropical Director of Marketing Sandra Pascual. "We like to have fun with our guests, and you'd be surprised how many people get into it!"
The campaign was started by the National Chicken Council and the U.S. Poultry and Egg Association in 1990 as a way to raise consumer awareness about the poultry industry, according to a statement on the National Chicken Council's website.
The council, formerly known as the National Broiler Council, is a trade association that represents domestic chicken producers and conducts a number of programs "designed to promote the consumption of chicken by people in the United States."
