Cotton candy, pictures with Santa, funnel cakes, pretend snow and Ferris wheels — it must be carnival season.

Whether you're looking for fairs in the UCF area or wanting to try somewhere different, here is a list of a few carnivals that have already started or are going to start soon.

Light Up UCF

Light Up UCF returns for its seventh season to transform Knights Plaza into a winter wonderland. The Holiday Light Show, the Holiday Film Festival, an ice skating rink and attractions will return to their places in front of the CFE Arena. Light Up UCF will run through Jan. 4, with a free night for students on Nov. 19. To take advantage of the free night, students need a wristband and can pick it up with a UCF ID at SGA in the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. If you can't get a wristband during those hours, you can show up at the event with a UCF ID. Apart from the free student nights, it will cost $9 to ice skate and $17 for the Ultimate Ride Package.

Hours:

Monday through Thursday: 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Friday: 5 p.m. to midnight

Saturday: Noon to midnight

Sunday: Noon to 10 p.m.

Santa's Winter Wonderland Village

Held at Waterford Lakes Town Center, the annual Santa's village will have multiple dates, starting on Dec. 5 and ending on Jan. 4, according to its official website. Free parking, free admission and free entertainment will be included. With 22 Christmas-themed rides, guests can experience the carnival with a daily wristband, which includesunlimited mechanical rides for $20 or individual tickets for the rides of their choosing. Hours vary, with most event days starting at 2 p.m.

Hours:

Fridays (Dec. 5, Dec. 12 and Dec. 19): 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Saturdays and Sundays: 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Weekdays (Dec. 22 to Jan. 2): 2 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Christmas Eve: 2 p.m. to 9.m.

Christmas Day: 2 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Central Florida Fair

The new year is just around the corner. Join in on the fun with the opening of the 2015 Central Florida Fair at the Central Florida Fairgrounds. Starting on Feb. 26, the fair will last through March 8. On opening night, guests can participate in $1 admission and $1 rides all night if they each bring a canned-food item. Prices for unlimited-ride wristbands vary each night, ranging from $25 to $30.

Hours:

Feb. 26, Feb. 27: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

Feb. 28: 10 a.m. to noon.

March 1: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

March 2 through March 6: 4 p.m. to 11 p.m.

March 7: 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.

March 8: 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Volusia County Fair

3150 E. New York Ave., DeLand

"Capture the Magic" and be a kid again at this year's themed Volusia County fair in DeLand. Celebrating its 70th anniversary, according to a news release, the fair is scheduled to run until Nov. 16. Admission to the fair is $10, with unlimited-ride wristbands costing $15, except on Nov. 11, which is $1-per-ride day.
