It may be flu season, but UCF students are already coming down with tacky-sweater fever.

Whether you are planning on attending a traditional "ugly" Christmas-sweater party, or just looking for festive attire to wear during the holidays, there are a few popular franchises that have got you covered.

Local stores such as Super Target and Kohl's located in Waterford Lakes Town Center are stocking up on Christmas sweaters.

"When I work, I see a lot of customers try on our selection of different 'ugly' Christmas sweaters and ask where they can find them in the store," Target sales associate Naomi Molina said.

Target carries various long-sleeved sweaters in its store, from Santa-themed designs to Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer and the Gingerbread Man.

Prices range from $15 to $25. Sales include 5 percent off every day when opening a REDcard, or free shipping during the holiday season when ordering online.

"I always overhear young people at the fitting room talking about finding the perfect Christmas sweater and what parties they're going to go to," Molina said.

For the more creative minds looking to make their own unique sweaters, Target is also selling Ugly Christmas Sweater Box Kits, starting at $24.99, which include a sweater and different arts and crafts for the design.

Just across the street from the Super Target in Waterford is Kohl's department store, where students have an array of options when it comes to Christmas attire.

Sophomore computer science major Ivy Alexanders bought her sweater from the local Kohl's near campus.

"I love Christmas sweaters, including Christmas-themed gaming shirts," Alexanders said.

For mall-goers, popular department stores such as JCPenney in the Fashion Square Mall on East Colonial Drive are also featuring "ugly" Christmas scarves, leggings and socks to match your sweater.

Prices range from $7 to $34.99, with holiday sales from 15 to 25 percent off purchases.
