The Buzz: This introductory class is for beginners or those wanting to work on the basics of asana (poses), pranayama (breath work) and meditation. This class offers participants some tools to lower stress, improve health and increase energy. The RWC says that regularly practicing yoga helps make a clear, bright mind and a strong, capable body.

UCF STEM Day

The Buzz: Volunteer opportunity: The Center for Initiatives in STEM (iSTEM) is hosting the first annual STEM Day at UCF. Kindergarten through 12th grade classes have been invited to come and explore the STEM fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics through demonstrations, tours and exhibits, designed and led by UCF faculty and students.

Female Entrepreneurship Success Secrets

The Buzz: Ever wonder what it takes for girls to really "run the world" like Beyoncé suggests? This workshop teaches the specific building blocks to being a successful female entrepreneur who cannot be ignored. It is led by successful female entrepreneur Carol Ann Dykes and will be focused on showing female students how to succeed as an employee or entrepreneur.

The Buzz: This race benefits Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida. Participants run this 5K through colored powder and are encouraged to have fun in the "Happiest 5K on the Planet."

Sandwich Eat-up

Where: Beefy King; 424 N Bumby Ave.,Orlando

Cost: $3 to $5 per sandwich

The Buzz: The monthly #SandwichEatUp by Deli Fresh Threads is organized at different cafes each month as a social opportunity for Central Florida residents to get to know each other. Come enjoy a great conversation along with a sandwich.

The 2015 Winter Sky Festival

Beginner Photoshop Class (Guide to Filters)

When: 11 a.m. to noon, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Where: Technology Commons 1, Room 102C

The Buzz: Come check out the Tech Common's free beginner Photoshop series of workshops. The workshop is open to students, faculty and staff. This week's Photoshop lesson will show students how to apply Photoshop filters to images. It's a beginner level class that will improve your filter skills past Instagram. Bring your own computer with Photoshop CS4 or higher installed Photoshop. Also, an external mouse is highly recommended.

Challenge Course Open Knight Climb

When: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: UCF Challenge Course

Cost: Free

The Buzz: At this Challenge Course Open Knight Climb, join the Recreation and Wellness Center for one of their most popular events. The first 120 people to arrive will be able to climb and each UCF student can bring one non-UCF guest (18+). The program is designed to be socially, mentally and physically challenging. Bring a valid and active UCF ID (non-UCF guests need a valid photo ID). Wear athletic attire and closed-toed shoes, and do not wear jewelry.

Shimmy Knights Belly Dance Club

Where: Student Union, Room 221

Cost: $3 for one class; $20 for the semester

The Buzz: Shimmy Knights is the belly dance club here at UCF. If you are interested in learning how to belly dance, then this event is for you. No prior dance experience is necessary.
