The Top 40s are taking a back seat this weekend as the UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival grooves onto the UCF campus Friday.

The eighth annual UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival will come to campus on Friday and Saturday, according to a release from UCF News and Information. Performers will take the stage both nights at the Nicholson School of Communication Auditorium beginning at 8 p.m.

The opening night concert will feature the UCF All Star High School Jazztet, which will open for Grammy Award-winner Catherine Russell, who has collaborated with artists such as David Bowie and Paul Simon, among others.

The second night will play host to The Jazz Professors, one of which is UCF's director of jazz studies Jeff Rupert. The Professors' various recordings, such as "Life from the UCF-Orlando Jazz Festival" and "Do That Again" have placed high on jazz charts.

The David Hazeltine Trio will round out the festival.

Tickets for all events are $20 at the door and free for UCF students with a valid ID.
