Light the Knight 5K

The Buzz: Join CAB, SGA, Late Knights and Knights of the Turntables as they light up the night and glow for 3.11 miles. After finishing the 5K, runners can party with a DJ battle competition hosted by Knights of the Turntables.

Friday Night Block Party

Where: Wall Street Plaza

The Buzz: Every Friday and Saturday night, Wall Street is closed off for a block party, which features $4 Fireball shots, $5 Jager shots and $6 Jameson shots.

Saturday, April 4

51st Annual Ron Jon Surf Shop Easter Surfing Festival

When: 7:30 a.m.

Where: Cocoa Beach Pier

Cost: Free

The Buzz: Sun, surf, Easter egg hunt — enjoy this free event at Cocoa Beach. Watch champion surfers from around the globe, from the ages of 12 to 80, compete in this annual competition.

Trumpet Fest

When: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Where: Rehearsal Hall, Auditorium

Cost: $25 for regular guests, $15 with Student ID, free with UCF ID

The Buzz: Guest artists this year include: Jack Burt, an associate professor at the University of Maine; Thomas Hooten, a principal trumpet of the Los Angeles Philharmonic; and Wiff Rudd, a professor at Baylor University. The UCF Trumpet Fest is a day-long festival featuring clinics, masterclasses, performances and vendor exhibits.

Bill Orcutt with the UCF Collide Ensemble

The Buzz: Celebrated guitarist Bill Orcutt joins UCF's percussion ensemble for a live performance in Downtown Orlando.

Jazz Night at Broadway Pizza

The Buzz: This free music night will feature Latin jazz, jazz vocal hits and instrumental pop. Music runs till 10 p.m., and the event will include raffles and hand out gift certificates to Broadway Pizza.

It's a Trap! Easter Egg Hunt

The Buzz: "It's A Trap" is a room adventure where up to eight adults get "trapped" in an environment with a costumed character. Participants have one hour to find clues, figure out puzzles and solve the objective.

Challenge Course Open Knight Climb

When: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: UCF Challenge Course

Cost: Free

The Buzz: At this Challenge Course Open Knight Climb, join the Recreation and Wellness Center for one of its most popular events. The first 120 people to arrive will be able to climb, and each UCF student can bring one non-UCF guest (18+). Bring a valid and active UCF ID (non-UCF guests need a valid photo ID). Wear athletic attire and closed-toed shoes, and do not wear jewelry.

Bad Dog - A World Premiere New Play - By Jennifer Hoppe-House

When: 7:30 p.m.

Where: Orlando Shakespeare Theater

Cost: $12 to $45, depending on seating

The Buzz: This show features the story of Molly Drexler, who after ten years of sobriety, tumbles off "the wagon" by driving her Prius through her house. Her family tries to cope with her wreckage, but ends up running headfirst into their own problems. This comedic family drama resurfaces old wounds and makes new ones in Drexler's life.

Open Mic Poetry and Spoken Word

The Buzz: Poetry and spoken word open mic will be featured at this event in Winter Park.

Shimmy Knights Belly Dance Club

The Buzz: Shimmy Knights is the belly dance club at UCF. No prior dance experience is necessary to enjoy a night of learning about this cultural dance.
