Insomnia Cookies to open at Plaza on University
Craving a midnight snack but can't seem to find a sugary sweet to help satisfy your needs?
Insomnia Cookies will be opening its first Orlando location at Plaza on University next to Spoleto before the end of this semester.
Its menu consists of nine traditional varieties of cookie treats, including a popular item called "the cookiewich" — ice cream sandwiched between two cookies.
Megan M. Bruton, senior director of marketing for Insomnia Cookies, said the business began on the University of Pennsylvania campus in 2003, and has been serving college communities ever since. Individual cookies cost as low as $1.50 at other locations.
"We find that students really enjoy our product, and we really enjoy the excitement students bring," Bruton said.
In addition to not only serving cookies at the store, Insomnia Cookies also has delivery options so you can get a batch of cookies and cookie cakes right at your front door. The service runs from noon to 3 a.m.
"The fact that we deliver all day allows us to meet the needs of many guests," Bruton said. "College students tend to enjoy our late night aspects while businesses and professionals enjoy receiving mid-day deliveries."
There is also a phone app for users to order through Insomnia Cookies' CookieDough loyalty program, which allows users to earn free cookies.
