2015 Florida Film Festival

The Buzz: Showcasing the best in current cinema, the Florida Film Festival is accredited by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. The festival hosts more than 100 visiting directors and has more than 25,000 guests every year.

The Buzz: The $75,000 Joust Business Plan Tournament brings students from across the spectrum of academic disciplines together to compete for cash awards and essential business services needed to launch a venture. This event will feature big prizes and big ideas.

Open Water SCUBA Certification Course

When: 6 p.m.

Where: UCF Recreation and Wellness Center

Cost: The three-day course is $275

The Buzz: The format of this class involves one classroom session, one pool session and one spring dive or ocean dive. Items included in the cost are instruction, classroom materials, dives and SCUBA gear. It is the student's responsibility to bring a SCUBA-quality mask, snorkel, wetsuit, fins and booties. These pieces can be rented through the Outdoor Adventure Center located in the downstairs area of the RWC across from the lap pool. All other equipment is provided by Ranger Rick SCUBA Adventures.

Vibrant Borders: The True Colors of Africa

When: 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Where: College of Sciences Building, Room 101

The Buzz: The African Student Organization of UCF will be having their first annual showcase called "Vibrant Borders: The True Colors of Africa." The showcase aims to show the diversity of Africa. There will be music, dancing, fashion and more.

6th Annual UCF Book Festival

The Buzz: UCF will host Central Florida's sixth annual festival Saturday, which will feature national and local authors with book signing times. There will be book sales and appraisals, meet-the-author and author forums, exhibits and a wide range of children, teen and college-aged activities.

UCF Football Spring Game

When: Pre-game festivities start at 11 a.m.; Kick-off is at 2 p.m.

Where: Bright House Networks Stadium

Cost: Free admission and parking

The Buzz: Fans are invited to come out early, and students can earn 4,000 points for Knightmare Rewards. Pre-game will feature food trucks and family activities.

Holi Festival of Colors

Orlando City Soccer U23 Tryouts

Rent-A-Pup Event

The Buzz: Students can "rent" dogs for a 15- to 20-minute walk around campus. These dogs are presented by Pet Rescue by Judy, an animal shelter that is dedicated to the rescue of cats and dogs.

Student Pizza Lunch with Dean Jarley

The Buzz: Dean Jarley is looking to interact and hear honest feedback from students during this luncheon.
