Coin Wars

Cost: Free to attend

The Buzz: All the money donated in the student versus faculty battle will go toward Knight-Thon. “Any silver coins such as nickels, dimes and quarters count in favor of your team. Any U.S. dollar bill of any value counts against the team. Pennies are neutral,” according to the UCF Homecoming website.

Movie Knight

When: 8 p.m.

Where: Memory Mall

Cost: Free

The Buzz:Minions will be playing, and trivia starts at 7:30 p.m.

Shimmy Knights Belly Dance Club

When: 8 p.m. to 9:20 p.m.

Where: Nicholson School of Communication, Room 116

Cost: $3 for one class, $20 for the semester

The Buzz: Shimmy Knights is the belly dance club at UCF. No prior dance experience is necessary to enjoy a night of learning about this cultural dance.

Orlando Film Festival

The Buzz: The annual festival portrays a variety of independent films made from film directors from all over the world.

Celebration Oktoberfest

The Buzz: Enjoy live music and pumpkin painting at the Celebration Town Center near Disney.

Rent-A-Pup Event

When: 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Where: Outside the Burnett Honors College

Cost: Free with UCF ID

The Buzz: Students can “rent” dogs for a 15- to 20-minute walk around campus. These dogs are presented by Pet Rescue by Judy, an animal shelter that is dedicated to the rescue of cats and dogs.

Spirit Splash

Where: Reflecting Pond

Cost: Free

The Buzz: Spirit Splash is UCF’s most famous Homecoming tradition. Eventgoers can expect to get wet and wild with guest speakers, free T-shirts and a lot of rubber ducks.

Fireworks

The Buzz: The second annual fireworks display at UCF will take place at Memory Mall.

Central Florida Veg Fest 2015

The Buzz: Although this is the 11th annual Veg Fest, this is the fourth year it will take place at Orlando Festival Park. There will be healthy living and eco-friendly exhibitors, speakers and presentations, along with food preparation demonstrations and live entertainment.

Orlando Beer Festival

The Buzz: Sample craft and premium beers from local breweries and around the world, rain or shine.

Homecoming Game

Trick or Treat on Greek Street

The Buzz: This safe, family-friendly trick-or-treating event will be giving proceeds to Feeding Children Everywhere.

Sangam’s Diwali Show 2015

The Buzz: The Indian Student Association at UCF will hold an event for the holiday “Diwali,” meaning the Festival of Lights. There will be performances and traditional Indian food, which is included with entry.

Ricky Martin: One World Tour

The Buzz: The RWC is partnering with the Multicultural Society to present African Dance. Students do not have to sign up, but bringing water is recommended. This is the second of three cultural dance series sessions the Multicultural Society is holding.

The Buzz: The annual Bake A Change cupcake campaign will be selling cupcakes all week to raise funds for girls’ education.
