'Harry Potter' stars to appear at Universal celebration
Accio witches and wizards: The stars of Harry Potter will be returning to the Universal Orlando Resort in early 2016 for "A Celebration of Harry Potter."
Members of the crew and cast of the largest-grossing film franchise will be visiting Orlando from Jan. 29 to Jan. 31, giving a chance for fans to delve further into the world of Harry Potter, according to a press release.
Access to "A Celebration of Harry Potter" will be granted with tickets to Universal Studios and Islands of Adventures, on a first-come, first-served basis. The celebration includes entrance to the Harry Potter Expo at the Universal Orlando soundstage, a Q&A session with the stars, interactive activities with the crew members who were in charge of bringing the magical world to the screen, a mini-tour of Warner Bros. Studio Tour London and more.
Cast members Rupert Grint, Evanna Lynch, Katie Leung, Bonnie Wright and Matthew Lewis will be participating in a Q&A panel, where fans can ask them questions about making the movie. In addition, head prop maker Pierre Bohanna will discuss the wand-making process.
Graphic prop designers Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima, from the design studio MinaLima, will hold their own behind-the-scenes discussion where they explain how they created iconic props, such as the Marauder's Map, The Quibbler and The Daily Prophet, as well as their involvement with The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley, where they designed the store fronts and graphics, according to the release. MinaLima is currently working on production for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
As part of the Expo, guests will be able to be sorted by the Sorting Hat, examine magical props designed by MinaLima, and have the chance to win a new illustrated edition of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone and other prizes.
