A car crash near campus sent three people to the hospital on Tuesday night, including UCF basketball player Brandon Goodwin.

The accident, which involved three cars, occurred at the intersection of Alafaya Trail and University Boulevard.

The first vehicle, heading south on Alafaya Trail, sat in the inside left turn lane, according to information provided by Kim Montes, public affairs officer for the Florida Highway Patrol. A second and third vehicle, which were heading north on Alafaya Trail, were in the center and inside lanes, respectively. The first vehicle attempted to make a left turn, violating right of way, and struck the right side of vehicle three, which then caused vehicle two, driven by Goodwin, to hit the first vehicle.

After the roof of one of the cars was removed, all three drivers were transported to the hospital, including Goodwin, with non-critical injuries, Montes said.

Along with photos of the wrecked car and his injuries, Goodwin tweeted, "God blessed me, that's all I can say. Thanks to everybody that wished me well, ima be okay. Love you guys!"
