The Oviedo restaurant Five Star Pizza, just a few miles from UCF's campus, was closed due to emergency health violations on Sept. 2.
Health inspectors found five live roaches and one dead roach in the kitchen area, according to a report issued by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
The restaurant was reopened after two hours, said a manager who declined to comment further.
This is the third time this year that the restaurant has been closed due to health violations. Previous violations include the presence of roaches, slime and mold debris, rust, expired licenses and the absence of required hygiene materials.
It previously was closed on Aug. 15 and April 24.
The roaches were discovered in a water cooler next to the hand-washing sink and on a wall behind a pizza cooler.
The restaurant was one of one of four in the Orlando area that closed due to health violations during the week of Sept. 2.
