For the first time, UCF will play host to early voting for the Nov. 4 general election.
Voting will take place at the Barbara Ying International Student Center, which is located on the south side of campus off of Central Florida Boulevard. It will run from Oct. 20 to Nov. 2 weekdays from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
The general elections are held each year in November and concern offices at every level of government. Florida holds its general elections for state offices each even-numbered year, according to the Florida Division of Elections website.
This is the first time a campus location has been available for public voting. A recent change in law regarding the disposition of voting locations allowed the Center to be used alongside the Alafaya Branch Library, which has historically been used as an election site.
Only residents of Orange County will be able to cast their ballot at the Center. Students and voters whose permanent residences are located in other counties will not be able to vote.
