UPDATE: Orange County Sheriffs responded to an armed robbery that took place in the Phase 1 parking garage stairwell at Sterling Central apartment complex on Alafaya Trail late Monday night.

Two weeks ago, another student was also robbed in the same garage at the complex.

A letter from Sterling described the suspect as a 6-foot black male with black hair and appears to be 20 years old. He was last seen wearing a gray hoodie, according to an email delivered to Sterling Residents from Megan Edwards, property manager at the complex.

However, a release from the Orange County Sheriff's Office states that the suspect is approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall.

The release says that the suspect "produced a firearm and stole the victim's cellphone."

Also, sheriffs believe that the suspect is the same person involved in the armed robbery from earlier this month.

"This activity has been reported to the police and we are working very closely with them to identify and prosecute the person responsible," Edwards said.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Central Florida Crimeline at 800-423-TIPS.
