UCF Police will host a magic show fundraiser on Nov. 13 to benefit the K-9 unit as it prepares to add a fourth police dog to the force.

Comedic magician Jimmy Rock will headline the showcase in the Cape Florida Ballroom of the Student Union, according to a press release from public information officer Courtney Gilmartin.

Displays, meet-and-greets and photo opportunities will start in front of the ballroom at 6:30 p.m. Doors will open at 7 p.m., and the magic and illusion show will start at 7:30 p.m.

Free parking will be available in Garage D.

General admission tickets are $5 for UCF students and alumni, and $10 for others. Tickets are available at the police department or online for an extra fee.

All ticket-buyers can submit a suggested name for the new dog, and the selected name will be announced during the show.

UCF PD's K-9 fund will be supported by all funds raised through ticket sales, raffles and other donation opportunities, and will go toward the expense of the dog, training, equipment and a car for its trainer.

The new dog will join the department in December, and the trainer for the soon-to-be dog will be introduced at the event.

"Rook, who has performed at the Mystic Dunes Resort in Kissimmee, at the Improv Comedy Club and on America's Got Talent, has been entertaining audiences for more than 15 years," the release states.

Police dogs from other local agencies, Knightro and radio personalities from XL 106.7 will be at the event as well.
