The perils of parking on campus take a toll on pregnant women who might have to experience a long walk to class or work in the Florida heat, causing discomfort.
To combat this, UCF Parking and Transportation Services and the Center for Success of Women Faculty are trying a program, set to start in the spring semester. It will allow pregnant women in their third trimester to reserve an "expectant mother" parking spot on campus, according to an email sent to students from Sharon Ekern of Student Development and Enrollment Services.
In order to reserve a spot, women would also need a valid UCF parking decal.
The program will be a trial in order to judge the interest and success among women.
