Chi Omega reclaims UCF campus house for spring
UCF's Chi Omega will be returning to Greek Park for the new school semester.
"[The sorority] will officially be back in good standing when UCF resumes classes Monday, and members will be moving back into the Chi Omega house this week," said UCF spokeswoman Courtney Gilmartin in an email.
Since its suspension, the Greek organization's house has remained mostly vacant.
Chi Omega was initially placed on interim organizational suspension this past spring following hazing allegations and filed an appeal to overturn UCF's decision. The university denied the appeal June 16 and lifted its suspension this past semester.
The incident in question involved three members — who have since resigned from the sorority — "hazing" new members by driving them to campus, forcing them to consume an entire bottle of rum and leaving them to get home on their own, according to police reports.
