Man, 77, arrested for stalking UCF basketball coach
After violating a previously issued trespass, 77-year-old Andrew Epps was arrested for stalking UCF women's basketball head coach Joi Williams, according to a report from the UCF Police Department.
After continuously following Williams and attending numerous games to see her, Epps was issued a trespass in September 2013, barring him from UCF and all affiliated properties.
On Jan. 2, Williams received a text message from assistant coach Joe Silvestri informing her "the stalker is in the office." When she pulled into the CFE Arena loading dock, Epps drove past her in the opposite direction. One he saw her, she said he did a U-turn and parked beside her. Feeling uncomfortable, Williams called Silvestria to walk her into the building, the report states.
Officers soon arrived at the loading dock to find Epps still parked. After confirming the suspect had an active trespass warning, the officers arrested Epps for stalking and trespass after written warning.
Epps was transferred to the Orange County Jail and issued a new trespass warning, barring him from UCF properties.
As of Thursday, Epps is no longer in Orange County's Inmate Database.
