UCF Victim Services will host a campaign to call for an end to violence against women and girls on Feb. 13 at noon on the Student Union patio stage.
The global One Billion Rising campaign, which began three years ago and is held every February, uses art to spread awareness about women survivors of rape, abuse and domestic violence. The program will feature live music, spoken word, dance and personal testimonies.
Victim Services will team up with emergency shelter, SafeHouse of Seminole County, to host the campaign. SafeHouse will display artwork done by its residents that conveys their own experiences with rising from violence.
