Students now have another quick-lunch stop option near campus. BurgerFi at the Plaza on University held its grand opening Wednesday.
The restaurant's concept is to serve a "better burger" made from all-natural, free-range ingredients. Burgers are never frozen or microwaved and no additives or chemicals are added, according to the company's website.
The restaurant also serves a quinoa-based veggie burger, as well as house-made fries and frozen custards. Average meal prices range from $9 to $12.
The website also states that the chain builds and furnishes its locations "according to environmentally sustainable best practices," including chairs and tables that are made from recycled materials, and fans that use less electricity.
The new UCF-area eatery is the chain's fifth location in Central Florida, with the second-closest being in Winter Park.
