Firemen and Orange County Sheriff's deputies were on the scene at International Pawn and Jewelry Company on the corner of Alafaya Trail and Colonial Drive Saturday around 5 p.m. as shots were reported to be fired.

"We received several 911 calls for a black male shooting at another person," Lt. Paul Hopkins said. "When we arrived on scene, we found there were no suspects or no victims around."

Hopkins said police were able to speak to some witnesses who said they saw a silver car pull into a local business, then saw a red car arrive. A black male from the red car went over to the silver car and started shooting inside at the Hispanic male. The suspect then got back in the red car and took off.

"Right now, our main concern is to try to locate these vehicles and try to get these guys off the street. We're really concerned about somebody running around with a gun, running up to vehicles and just shooting right inside," Hopkins said.

Firemen arrived to the scene shortly after police, and brought a ladder to the side of the building for an officer to climb to the roof to find evidence, but nothing was located.

Police have contacted the local hospitals to see if the victim has checked in, but no success.

"We hope [the victim] calls us so that we can find out who did this and get this bad guy off the street," he said.

Some of the businesses around the area are working with police to close the case.

"We're getting surveillance video from there, and hopefully we can identify the suspect and the victim out of this so we can put the bad guy in jail tonight," Hopkins said.
