After running a red light, a car struck a UCF shuttle Monday morning on Alafaya Trail at Science Drive.

First responders extracted a female driver from the Lincoln Town Car and took her to Florida Hospital East in stable condition with minor injuries. Her father was in the car also, but did not have any apparent injuries.

There was only one passenger and a driver on the shuttle, and neither were harmed, said Kim Montes, spokeswoman for Florida Highway Patrol.

The accident remains under investigation and northbound lanes are currently closed at this time.
