"For my dad to beat cancer."
That's what Blake Bell, senior legal studies major, wished for at the UCF Student Union's third annual Wishing Well Happiness Day.
The Student Union marketing team hosted the event on Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. as part of its Pursuit of Happiness mission. The "well" in the atrium filled up with colored paper as students took a minute from their busy days to reflect on their lives and make a wish.
"We want to give students an incentive to get them through the day," said Kamila Pervaiz, marketing team member and junior accounting major.
Other students, such as Nabiha Choudhury, senior health sciences major, wished for good grades and good health.
Leslie Moreno, freshman biology major, said she just wants to pass her chemistry class this semester.
"I wished for a good job after graduation," said Karen Rodriquez, junior advertising-public relations major.
Pervaiz said the marketing team is promoting happiness with events throughout the year, such as the Wishing Well Happiness Day, to get students to reflect on what makes them happy.
