UCF's Phi Delta Theta formal continues after bus crash
UCF's Phi Delta Theta fraternity hit a bump in the road on its way to formal as its bus crashed on the property of the Westgate Smoky Mountain Resort & Spa in Gatlinburg, Tennessee.
On Saturday at 9:30 a.m., the bus crashed at the resort where the formal was going to be held. Phi Delta Theta President Jacob Milich said the bus was able to drive around fine afterward, so he cannot speculate on exactly what happened.
"The bus was in a small accident, luckily there were no injuries, and formal continued as normal," said Milich, a junior accounting major.
Although he was not on the bus at the time, Milich went to the site of the accident after it happened.
"The bus was pulled off on the shoulder of the road, slightly muddy in the front from the ditch, but no structural damage. Everyone got off the bus and collected across the street," he said.
