The Oviedo Police Department is searching for two males wanted for armed robbery and battery that took place at a 7-Eleven, located near UCF.
Approximately 2 a.m., Thursday, at the intersection of Chapman Road and Alafaya Trail, officers responded to a 911 call from the store's clerk. The clerk told officers that two black males wearing masks entered the store, grabbed her, pulled her to the registers and, at gunpoint, demanded she open the registers, according to a news release.
One of the suspects struck the clerk in the back of her head with a handgun, while the other checked the store's office area for other employees.
"Oviedo officers and assisting Seminole County deputies established a perimeter and searched for the suspects with negative results," according to the release.
The release states that both suspects fled the scene and the clerk wasn't able to provide any information on the suspect vehicle.
Officers believe the two suspects were also involved in a second robbery that occurred shorty after at a 7-Eleven located on John Young Parkway.
The two males are described in the release to be between 5-feet-8 inches and 5-feet-10 inches.
Oviedo PD is asking anyone with information related to the crime to call Crimeline at 1-800-423-TIPS or OVPD Detective Sean Snyder at 407-971-5710.
