UCF student dies in car crash near Waterford Lakes
UPDATE (9:05 p.m.): UCF spokesman Chad Binette confirmed Chloe Arenas was a UCF student during the spring semester, although she did not enroll to take classes in summer.
UPDATE (7 P.M.): The Florida Highway Patrol has released the name of the driver as Chloe Arenas.
We are working to confirm whether Arenas is a UCF student.
A 21-year-old Orlando woman died Sunday morning when her vehicle drove into a pond off State Road 408, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The woman was driving eastbound on the SR 408 exit ramp toward Alafaya Trail around 5 a.m. The car did not stop at the exit for unknown reasons and traveled across all the lanes on Alafaya Trail before submerging in a pond, according to the FHP release.
The car and the driver were removed from the pond by divers.
