A large fire erupted in the Tivoli Apartment complex Sunday afternoon.

The fire, which began in apartment 1450, spread toward apartment 1456 shortly after.

The Seminole County Fire Department showed up to the complex and began to extinguish the flames.

The fire left 75 residents displaced and one firefighter hospitalized. Eight buildings were evacuated and 24 total units are displaced, according to the Seminole County Fire Department's PIO Media Twitter page.

Buildings five and six of the complex are off limits today until further notice.

About 25 residents displaced are UCF students, although UCF is not aware of any injuries to students, said UCF spokesman Chad Binette.

Red Cross has teamed up with UCF Victim Services to provide assistance to residents at the complex's clubhouse.

UCF has temporary housing available at the Lake Claire community for displaced students. Pets are allowed to stay with the residents. UCF can provide students with bedding and linens, said Binette. Other students may also find shelter with friends or family off campus.

UCF Housing and Residence Life is available 24/7 at 407-882-5000. Students who want to speak to a UCF victim advocate can call 407-823-1200.

Tivoli Apartments is located off McCulloch Road near campus. The SCFD worked alongside the UCF Police Department and UCF Office of Emergency Management.

This is an ongoing story. Check back for more details.
