Applications opened Monday for fall semester positions at UCF's Student Union.
Hiring for Guest Services and Event Services, the Union is accepting applications until Aug. 25 at 11:45 p.m. Priority applications are due Aug. 18 at 11:45 p.m. Applicants must currently be enrolled at UCF.
Event services associates are responsible for setting up equipment and making sure things run smoothly for Union events, while guest services associates work the desks at the Student Union computer labs and All Knight Study locations, according to the online job descriptions. On average, employees work between 15 and 20 hours per week and earn minimum wage, with opportunities for promotions after one semester, said Student Union Assistant Director Ana Maia.
The Union also creates flexible shifts to work with students’ class schedules, as Maia says “academics come first.”
If selected, applicants will be notified by Aug. 28 in order to participate in a group interview Aug. 31 at 6 p.m. Those hired can expect to hear from the Union by Sept. 4 and must attend a new hire orientation Sept. 12 and Sept. 13.
