Recruitment week for the UCF Panhellenic Council is upon us, and that means nearly 900 lady Knights are preparing to “run home” to their new sisters on Greek Park Drive on Saturday for Bid Day.
The number of recruits has increased to 872 for this fall, compared to 833 for the fall 2014 semester, said UCF spokeswoman Courtney Gilmartin.
The recruitment schedule according to the UCF Panhellenic website is as follows:
Monday, Aug. 17: UCF Day 1 - Recruits will visit six of the 12 Panhellenic chapters.
Tuesday, Aug. 18: UCF Day 2 - Recruits will visit the other six chapters.
Wednesday, Aug. 19: Philanthropy - Recruits will get to learn about the different chapter's philanthropic efforts.
Thursday, Aug. 20: Video Day - Recruits will watch a video to get a look into the chapter’s sisterhood.
Friday, Aug. 21: Preference Night - The lady Knights will get to experience chapters’ ceremonies and then determine which sisterhood is meant to be.
Saturday, Aug. 22: Bid Day - This is the day recruits will get to open their Bid cards and run home to their new sisters. The ceremony will commence at noon, and the women will run home at 1:30 p.m., said Gilmartin.
