Valencia among best community colleges in nation
Turns out community colleges are a force to be reckoned with. In a recent WalletHub study of the best and worst community colleges in the nation, Valencia College topped the charts as one of the best.
WalletHub’s study compared 670 community colleges nationwide using 17 key metrics — including cost of in-state tuition and fees, graduation rate and student-to-faculty ratio — to find the best and worst ones, and Valencia College was ranked 34th out of 670 community colleges nationwide.
Additionally, Valencia was ranked fourth out of the top five community colleges with the highest return on educational investment.
Each community college was compared across four dimensions — cost and financing, classroom experience, education outcomes and career outcomes — from which the 17 key metrics were drawn. Valencia ranked 336th in the cost and financing category, 170th in classroom experience, 29th in education outcomes and 107th in career outcomes.
WalletHub also compared each state’s community college system, and Florida’s made the top 10, ranking fifth of 50.
